History

Would you like to know more? started inside the Makerspace Attraktor e.V. in Hamburg. The idea was simple: make information that rots inside our wiki easy to find in the places you need it. This would be used to explain tools and machines inside the Makerspace, but also (and importantly) so that you would have an easy way to tell the world about projects you show. There were just too many things laying around where one would think: Wow, that looks cool! I wonder what that is … and then no way to find out.

So since we always carry our smart phones around with us anyway, the easy solution is to attach QR-Codes to everything, that link to our wiki. Oh but do those QR-Codes look dull! They needed a little twist so that you can feel you creating them. And it would be important to develop a distinctive design, so that you would recognise them easily: this is not just any random QR-Code, this will make me know more!

We came up with a design that fits with the style of Attraktor - the original ongoing project can be found in the Attraktor Wiki: https://wiki.attraktor.org/Would_you_like_to_know_more (in German). The QR-Codes can be easily created using an online tool that can be found under https://qr.deepcyber.de.

The concept of having such codes with a fitting design sounds perfect for a place like the Chaos Communication Congress. Luckily our QR-Generator can now produce codes in design of 38c3 as well. We invite everyone to use those for Congress (and anywhere else, really) to share information about your awesome projects with the world!
